Notes
Expert Recipe Tips:
Peel the brie for the best melt. Removing the rind helps the cheese melt quickly and evenly under the broiler.
Use roasted deli turkey for convenience. If you don’t have leftover turkey, choose roasted deli turkey for the closest flavor and texture match.
Mix the jam and chili sauce thoroughly. This ensures every bite has the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and spicy.
Slice the baguette evenly for consistent browning. Aim for 1-inch slices so they crisp evenly and don’t burn under the broiler.
Broil on the middle rack. This prevents burning while still melting the brie beautifully.
Watch closely when broiling! These bites can go from perfect to burnt in seconds, so start checking at the 2-minute mark.
Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. The melting brie can ooze, and parchment prevents sticking.
Add herbs after baking. Fresh rosemary or thyme tastes best when added at the end.
Make ahead, then reheat gently. Warm them for 20–30 seconds in the microwave just before serving to restore the gooey brie.
Choose a fresh baguette. Fresh bread gives the ideal crisp–soft texture, while day-old baguettes can turn overly hard once toasted.
Storage:You can make these delicious baked brie bites in advance, then warm them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds before serving. They can be stored in the fridge, in an airtight container, for 2 days after they are made.I don't recommend freezing them, as this ingredient combination doesn't stand up to freezing. NOTE: This is the Red Chili Sauce that I useÂ
