These No Bake Chocolate Avocado & Strawberry Mousse Spoon Desserts are a fun, elegant, yet easy Valentine's Day dessert that takes about 15 minutes to put together. They are vegetarian, gluten-free and Weight Watchers friendly. They are served on a spoon, so they are also the perfect bite sized mini dessert when you are trying to stay on track with your health goals and only want a "little dessert"!
Cut 7 strawberries in half and put ½ a strawberry (sliced side up with stem) on bottom of spoon.
6-8 strawberries
Fill a pastry bag, fitted with a IM tip full of avocado chocolate mousse. Pipe a dollop of mousse onto each strawberry half (as you would onto a cupcake) SEE VIDEO in NOTES * If you don't have a piping bag and tip, you can use a ziplock bag (just cut off one corner) and pipe the mousse in a circular motion.
Cut each square of chocolate in half. Add a half piece of chocolate to each strawberry spoon.
14 half squares of dark chocolate bar
Remove remaining strawberry stems and finely chop strawberries, then sprinkle a few pieces on top of mousse, placing in front of chocolate bar piece.
6-8 whole strawberries
Garnish
Garnish with sprinkles of coconut (on top) and whole strawberries on the plate.
Choose the Right Avocado: Use a ripe, creamy avocado for the mousse. To check if it’s ripe, gently press the skin—it should yield slightly without being too soft. Hass avocados work best due to their rich texture.
Blend Thoroughly: For a silky-smooth mousse, blend the ingredients in a food processor for at least 1-2 minutes, pausing to scrape down the sides. This ensures there are no avocado chunks.
Chill the Mousse Before Piping: After blending the mousse, let it chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. This firms up the texture slightly, making it easier to pipe and hold its shape on the strawberry.
Use High-Quality Chocolate: Opt for a premium dark chocolate bar (70-90% cocoa) to balance the sweetness of the mousse and enhance the flavor. Bars with subtle notes of fruit or nuts complement the strawberries beautifully.
Prep Strawberries with Care: Hulling strawberries cleanly and slicing them evenly ensures an elegant presentation. Use a small paring knife or a strawberry huller for precision.
Use Mini Dessert Spoons: If you want an elegant look, use dessert spoons. I purchased the plastic spoons (affiliate link) in the photos at a local Dollar/Party store. They are called Mini Spoons or Disposable Mini Dessert Spoons. You could also use small ramen/ soup spoons, or any small porcelain spoons.
