You won't believe how good for you these No Bake Chocolate Avocado Mousse & Strawberry Spoon Desserts are, but also how quick and easy they are to make! And although they look elegant, they will only take you about 15 minutes to put together. This dessert on a spoon is also perfect for Valentine's Day, date nights, or other special occasions, and tastes amazing!

I love mini desserts because you still get your dessert fix but in a small portion. They are also vegetarian, gluten-free and Weight Watchers friendly. And you have to admit- they look really cool! And it's a great alternative to chocolate-covered strawberries.

I saw a similar spoon dessert at an event earlier this year and fell in love with it! But I decided I'd make them healthier by using a chocolate avocado mousse (healthy chocolate pudding), fresh strawberries, dark chocolate, and coconut. I love how these mini desserts give you that sweet satisfaction but with only a little indulgence!

🥘 Ingredient Notes
- Avocado. Avocados are healthy, but they are not necessarily low-fat. But fat is not a bad thing here -avocados have 160 calories and 15 grams of healthy fats. And although they contain 9 grams of carbs, 7 of those are fiber, so there are only 2 "net" carbs, making this a low-carb-friendly plant food
- Agave. Agave is a natural, unrefined sweetener. It is sweeter than table sugar, rich in fructose, and also slightly higher in carbs (with 5 grams per teaspoon vs. 4 grams in table sugar.) But because agave tastes a hint sweeter, you can use a little less to get the same amount of sweetness.
- Almond extract. Almond extract gives the chocolate avocado mousse a unique and welcome hint of almond.
- Dark chocolate bar. I use Lindt supreme dark chocolate (90% cocoa)

📖 Variations & Substitutions
- Agave - you can substitute liquid honey, but you'll need to double the amount
- Dairy-free- you can make this dairy-free by using dairy-free milk like almond or soy milk
- Strawberries - you could use a different fresh fruit or another berry
- Chocolate - you could use another type of chocolate such as milk chocolate, white chocolate, or chocolate chips
- Silver Spoon Desserts - you can use silver spoons instead of plastic
🔪 How to Make Chocolate Strawberry Spoon Desserts

Cut each square of chocolate in half. Add a half piece of chocolate to each strawberry spoon.

Remove the remaining strawberry stems and finely chop strawberries, then sprinkle a few pieces of chopped strawberries on top of the mousse, placing in front of the chocolate bar piece.

Recipe Tips
- Choose the Right Avocado: Use a ripe, creamy avocado for the mousse. To check if it’s ripe, gently press the skin—it should yield slightly without being too soft. Hass avocados work best due to their rich texture.
- Blend Thoroughly: For a silky-smooth mousse, blend the ingredients in a food processor for at least 1-2 minutes, pausing to scrape down the sides. This ensures there are no avocado chunks.
- Chill the Mousse Before Piping: After blending the mousse, let it chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. This firms up the texture slightly, making it easier to pipe and hold its shape on the strawberry.
- Use High-Quality Chocolate: Opt for a premium dark chocolate bar (70-90% cocoa) to balance the sweetness of the mousse and enhance the flavor. Bars with subtle notes of fruit or nuts complement the strawberries beautifully.
- Prep Strawberries with Care: Hulling strawberries cleanly and slicing them evenly ensures an elegant presentation. Use a small paring knife or a strawberry huller for precision.
- Use Mini Dessert Spoons: If you want an elegant look, use dessert spoons. I purchased the plastic spoons (affiliate link) in the photos at a local Dollar/Party store. They are called Mini Spoons or Disposable Mini Dessert Spoons. You could also use small ramen/ soup spoons, or any small porcelain spoons.

🌡️Storage

❔Recipe FAQ's
Yes! You can assemble the desserts up to 24 hours in advance and store them in an airtight container in the fridge. However, it’s best to garnish them with coconut and add the whole strawberries just before serving for maximum freshness
If you don’t have a food processor, you can use a high-speed blender to make the avocado mousse. Alternatively, mash the avocado thoroughly with a fork and mix the ingredients by hand, though the texture may be less smooth.
If you don’t have a piping bag and frosting tip, a resealable plastic bag works well! Just cut a small corner off the bag, fill it with the mousse, and pipe it onto the strawberries in a circular motion.
