🥘Ingredients
Tuna is a pantry staple so you're likely to have it on hand. For this cold tuna dip, don't need mayonnaise, sour cream or Greek yogurt, because this creamy dip is made with cream cheese. You will need the following simple ingredients:
- 2- 7 oz cans of drained tuna *I use flaked tuna in water
- 8 oz light cream cheese, softened (room temperature)
- 4 tbsp minced onion
- 4 tbsp minced celery
- 4 tbsp lemon juice (from concentrate)
- ¼ teaspoon tobasco sauce (add more to taste)
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- fresh green onions (garnish)
See recipe card for quantities.
🔪Instructions
This tuna dip is as easy as mixing everything together!
Add everything together (except the green onion) in a large bowl.
Mix together thoroughly.
Place in a serving bowl and garnish with green onions and paprika.
📖Variations & Substitutions
- Tuna - I use flaked tuna, but you could use chunks of tuna or fresh tuna
- Onion- you can use red onion instead or use ¼-1/2 teaspoon of onion powder (if you don't have onions)
- Cream cheese - you can use regular, light, or fat-free
- Lemon juice - you can use fresh lemon juice instead of lemon juice from concentrate, but you'll need to double the amount
- Hot sauce - you can use a different type of hot sauce, other than Tabasco, if you prefer, such as sriracha or Frank's red hot sauce, or buffalo sauce. Or you could use cayenne pepper instead
- Add-ins - you could add a little garlic powder or black pepper if you like
- Garnish - you could use fresh parsley or finely chopped red bell pepper instead of green onions to garnish.
🍽Equipment
You only need a mixing bowl, mixing spoon, cutting board, and a sharp knife (affiliate links) for this creamy tuna dip recipe.

Store tuna dip in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Tuna tends to taste and smell very fishy if you leave it in the fridge for more than 2 days.
