Planning healthy meals, trying to lose weight, staying on track and avoiding food waste can be a challenge. That is why I have created this Healthy 7 Day Family Meal Plan. It's a weekly meal plan (with a shopping list) that will kickstart your healthy eating and weight loss when you don't know where to start, you want to please the entire family (even picky eaters), create easy meals, shop smart, and repurpose leftovers.
This plan is geared towards weekly meal prep for weight loss and was inspired by my Vacation Meal Plan - Vacation Rental, Cottage & Camping and my 45 Easy Ways to Eat More Fruits and Vegetables (with recipes) on this site.

My family has always eaten the same food as me, even when I am in full Weight Watchers weight loss mode. Honestly, I grew up eating Weight Watchers meals and had no idea I was eating Weight Watchers food. The reason for this is because WW is simply healthy eating. That's why your family can easily follow along with this meal plan too. Obviously, if they are not trying to lose weight, they can eat additional snacks and bigger portions or even add additional sides, calories and full-fat items to the meals.
📖WW Meal Plan
I originally created this Healthy 7-Day Family Meal Plan for the Weight Watchers blue plan, (which has now changed to the WW Personal Plan), for those starting out on Weight Watchers or looking to kickstart their healthy eating plan. If you are starting out on your WW weight loss journey and don't know where to start with meal planning, you'll love this Weight Watchers meals for a week plan! WW generally starts out with 23 WW points a day, depending on your weight, so, I made each day add up to 23 points (on the old blue plan). However, you can enter the recipes into your calculator to see how many points each item is on your plan. It will also depend on what you selected for your zero (0) point foods. Either way, it is geared towards weight loss on the WW plan.
🔪Weight Watchers Meal Prep
One of the best ways to stay on track is to plan and prepare ahead! This is an important part of healthy eating and weight loss and this plan will help you do just that. You may also want to check out my Weight Watchers Tips & Tricks for additional suggestions for staying on track. I have selected these easy recipes out of hundreds of my recipes on this site to bring you this healthy meal plan with breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snack ideas that will keep you full, give you variety and use up leftovers. In addition to these easy to make and delicious recipes you’ll also find a printable shopping list.
🔢WW Points
All of these recipes are Weight Watchers friendly. You can click on the links in the recipes to see how much they are on your personal plan. *You may need to build some in your recipe builder on the app
👪 Serving Size
Whether you have a big family, there are 2 of you or you're on your own, you can make this meal plan work for you because the serving sizes in all my recipes are adjustable! You simply click on the serving size (in blue), select the number of servings you would like and the quantities will adjust automatically.
🧾Healthy Meal Plan with grocery list
As I mentioned, this weekly meal plan with grocery list allows you to produce and print a grocery list directly from the plan, making it easier to plan and shop. You can also adjust all the servings, to suit the size of your family, before you produce the grocery list!
🍽️Equipment
You don't need special equipment for these recipes, but some of the recipes call for a hand mixer and food processor (affiliate links). Another tool I highly recommend is an instant read thermometer- (affiliate link). Not only is temperature the best way to check for doneness, an instant read thermometer will ensure juicy chicken and help prevent overcooked chicken (and we eat a lot of that on WW)! But it's great for everything food related!
🦺Food safety
- Cook chicken to a minimum temperature of 165 °F (74 °C)
- Do not use the same utensils on cooked food, that previously touched raw meat
- Wash hands after touching raw meat
- Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods
- Never leave cooking food unattended
- Use oils with high smoking point to avoid harmful compounds
- Always have good ventilation when using a gas stove

Healthy meal plans get you going in the right direction, if you're not sure where to start with healthy eating and weight loss. This healthy meal plan will save you time, money, avoid food waste and you won't sacrifice on taste!

Oh, organization. What a wonderful thing. As my life gets busier and my kids get HUNGRIER, it's getting tougher to wing it in the kitchen. This is a great schedule/plan, very crowd-pleasing, and very doable. It's also a nice template for making future week's plans. Thanks!

This is such a great post Terri. I've never been much of a meal planner. I just go buy what's on sale, then rely on my pantry to whip something up last minute. I think this would have come in handy back in the days when we were zooming the kids around the city for activities! Now it's just us and we mostly eat scrambled eggs. LOL
