- Orange Creamsicle Dip Recipe
A great fruit dip is not easy to find, so I was thrilled to find this one! Love dessert dips? Be sure to try my scrumptious Dark Chocolate Hummus too- it's another gem!
🥘Ingredient Notes

- Cream Cheese: Use one 8 oz block. For a "Healthy Balance" version, I recommend Light Cream Cheese: It must be completely softened to room temperature to ensure a smooth, lump-free texture.
- Marshmallow Creme: One standard 198 g/ 7oz jar. This provides the "fluff" and the nostalgic vanilla sweetness that creates the creamsicle effect.
- Concentrated Orange Juice: Sadly, this has been discontinued.... but you can still find it in some stores. Fortunately, I still have some in my freezer (yay!) But if you don't, you can easily make your own with this recipe: How to make your own concentrated orange juice. It doesn't take very long, and you can make a smaller amount or keep it in the freezer for when you need it.
*Please see recipe card for full list of ingredients and quantities.
📖 Variations & Substitutions
- Marshmallow Creme: You can substitute marshmallow fluff.
- Zesty Glow-Up: Stir in 1 teaspoon of fresh orange zest to the mixture for extra color and a punch of citrus oils.
- Lighten it Up: To bring the points down to 4 WW points, substitute the cream cheese with fat-free cream cheese.
- Berry Twist: Use the same reduction method with unsweetened raspberry or strawberry juice for a "Pink Lemonade" style dip.
🔪How to Make Orange Creamsicle Dip

- Step 1: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and concentrated orange juice until smooth and creamy.

- Step 2: Gently fold in the marshmallow creme with a rubber spatula until the mixture is light and fluffy. For the best results, let the dip sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

- Step 3: Garnish with grated orange, if desired, and serve with fruit and/or cookies.
Expert Recipe Tips
- The "No-Lump" Rule: Ensure your cream cheese is truly at room temperature before beating. If it's even slightly cold, you'll end up with tiny white lumps that are hard to whip out later.
- Fold, Don't Beat: When you add the marshmallow creme, switch from the electric mixer to a spatula. Folding it in gently preserves the "fluff" and prevents the dip from becoming too runny.
- The Chill Factor: While you can eat this immediately, letting it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes allows the orange flavor to deepen and the texture to set into a velvety mousse.
- DIY Concentrate: If you can't find frozen concentrate, don't use regular OJ straight from the carton-it will make the dip watery. Follow this recipe to reduce 1 cup of juice down to 2 tablespoons for that "spectacular" punch of flavor (see recipe instructions in Ingredient Notes and in recipe card notes).
🥗 What to Serve with Orange Creamsicle Fruit Dip
Ideally, this dip is best served with fruit such as melon (cantaloupe and honeydew), grapes, strawberries, and pineapple; fruits you'd generally see on a fruit tray. It also looks great served in hollowed out orange halves (shown below).
But you could also serve it with cookies, or as a pancake or waffle topping. For a fun twist, try serving it with pretzel sticks for that sweet-and-salty combination, or with chocolate-covered pretzels!

🌡️Storage
- Fridge: Store in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. If any liquid separates, just give it a gentle stir before serving.
- Freezer: I do not recommend freezing this dip. The marshmallow creme and cream cheese can change texture and become grainy or separated once thawed. However, if you have leftovers, you can freeze it in popsicle molds for a delicious frozen treat!
👪 Serving Size
This recipe makes 12 servings. However, you can half, double, or triple the recipe by clicking on the serving number and selecting the number of servings you'd like. The ingredient quantities will automatically adjust.
🔢WW Points
Standard Version: 6 WW points per 2-tablespoon serving.
Lightened Version: 4 WW points per serving if you use light cream cheese or fat-free cream cheese.
Pro Tip: Serve with zero-point fruits like strawberries and melon to keep your total snack points low!
❔Recipe FAQs
Absolutely. Marshmallow fluff and marshmallow creme are essentially the same thing and can be used interchangeably in this recipe.
Since the leading maker of frozen concentrated orange juice has discontinued it, you can make your own "flavor bomb" by simmering 1 cup of regular orange juice in a small saucepan over medium heat until it reduces to about 2 tablespoons. Concentrated Orange Juice recipe HERE. Let it cool completely before adding it to the cream cheese.
Yes! This is a great make-ahead dessert. You can make it up to 48 hours in advance. Just keep it covered in the fridge and give it a quick fluff with a spoon before serving.
If you want a brighter color, you can add a single drop of orange food coloring. For more flavor, add 1 teaspoon of fresh orange zest-the natural oils in the skin provide a spectacular aromatic boost.
