This unique and healthy Grilled Greek Chicken burger recipe is made with ground chicken breast and loaded with Mediterranean flavors like feta, black olive, sundried tomatoes, and garlic, then served in a pita!
This chicken feta burger is great for grilling season and the ideal healthy grilling recipe for Father's Day. However, it's popular any time of the year, as it can be made in a skillet or in the air fryer as well. This recipe was inspired by my Award-winning Mediterranean Chicken and Wild Rice Cups on this site and is ww friendly. They pair perfectly with my Greek Yogurt Tzatziki Sauce (with fresh dill)!

🥘Ingredients
For this recipe, you'll need the following burger ingredients:
- 1.5 lb ground chicken breast * about 6 medium-sized chicken breasts (ground)
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup feta cheese (I use light)
- ⅔ cup black olives * I use Kalamata olives
- ⅓ cup sundried tomatoes in oil, drained and finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- pita bread halves
- ½ tsp oregano
- ⅛ tsp each salt and black pepper
- tzatziki sauce
Optional filling/toppings/garnish:
- tomato
- red onion
- fresh mint
- tzatziki
- lemon slices or lemon wedges
🔪Instructions
Prep : preheat grill to medium (400 degrees F) and oil grill with cooking oil
Combine chicken, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, black olives, and bread crumbs in a large bowl.
Stir until well combined.
Shape mixture into patties (you should get 8 burgers with this recipe)
Place patties on preheated and oiled grill and close the lid.
Grill patties over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Flip, then put the lid down again and grill for another 5 minutes or until the meat thermometer reads 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
Remove from grill and serve immediately
Garnish with Tzatziki, red onion, tomatoes, and fresh mint, and squeeze a little lemon juice over the chicken. Or use any other fillings you prefer.
Hint: If barbecuing on an outdoor grill, let the grill run for 4-5 minutes to burn off any remnants, then clean it. I like to use this bristle-free grill brush (affiliate link) for cleaning the grill.
💭 Top Tip #1
If you don't have ground chicken breast and don't have a meat grinder, you can simply use a food processor to do it: How to grind chicken without a meat grinder
📖Variations & Substitutions
- Chicken- alternatively, you could use lean ground turkey.
- Pita bread - you can use white or whole wheat pita bread (use a low-carb pita bread for lower WW points) with this recipe. Alternatively, you can use a hamburger bun or another type of bun.
- Oil- you can use any type of oil you prefer, but I use olive oil. It's easiest to brush it on the grill.
- Garlic - you could use minced garlic in a jar or garlic powder instead of fresh garlic cloves.
- Oregano - you can use fresh oregano instead of dried, but you'll need double the amount
- Sundried Tomatoes - if you don't have any sundried tomatoes, you could use red peppers. The taste will be a bit different (but still delicious)
- Fillings- I like to use tzatziki, red onion, tomatoes, and fresh mint, but you can use whatever type of filling you like, including other fresh herbs such as dill or parsley. You could also use cucumber slices and red pepper if you prefer.
🥗 Side Dishes

🍽Equipment
You will need a grill if you are grilling these Greek burgers. You can use an BBQ/outdoor grill or an indoor grill pan, a stovetop grill, or simply use a fryingpan/skillet. You could also make them in the air fryer. If you don't have a meat grinder attachment for your mixer, use a food processor grind the chicken breast (see top tips). You'll also find an instant read thermometer is ideal for checking doneness of chicken (chicken is very easy to overcook). *See recipe card for recommended equipment photos and links

🔢WW Points
This recipe is Weight Watchers friendly @ 5 ww points (with regular pita and light feta not including tzatziki sauce).
If you use a low-carb pita (like Joseph's) and fat-free feta cheese, it will bring the burger down to 4 points each.
If you use my healthy tzatziki sauce, it's only 1 ww point per 2 tbsp.
💭Top tip #2
For best results and a juicy burger, don't overcook the burgers! Sear the outside and cook to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Using an instant-read thermometer is the best way to check for doneness. They should still be juicy for the best results.
🦺Food safety
- Cook chicken breast to an internal minimum temperature of 165 °F (74 °C)
- Do not use the same utensils on cooked food, that previously touched raw meat
- Wash hands after touching raw meat
- Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods

Edith
I made these last night and I loved them. It was too hot outside to BBQ so I did them in a frying pan. I used a little bit of the oil from the sun dried tomatoes. Delicious!

I'm so glad to hear you loved them, Edith!

My daughter loved these so much she asked for them for her birthday dinner! 🙂
