For years, my absolute favorite milkshake was the Chocolate Milkshake from The Lido Cafe in Calgary. Sadly, the cafe closed down a few years ago. And although I desperately miss those milkshakes, this Bear Claw Chocolate Milkshake has become my new fave! Inspired by the legendary Bear Claw chocolate, a trio of delicious caramel, cashews, and pure chocolate, this fancy milkshake is actually a Bear Claw in liquid form, created just for your drinking pleasure!
For the past 25 ish years I have lived in Calgary, Alberta, about an hours drive from Banff, Alberta, in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. On our very first visit to Banff, we discovered these delightful little handmade chocolates from a local that day forward, they became a cherished ritual for us on our visits. And when we had children, they also became part of that ritual. This milkshake recipe is an ode to the Bear Claw.

Recently my son wanted to go to a downtown Calgary restaurant called Regrub. He had shown me their crazy milkshakes on Instagram, which they are famous for, and WOW - milkshakes went and got all fancy on me! I mean, these milkshakes are decadent!
At the time, our kitchen ceiling was being repaired, we had no access to our kitchen and had to eat out, so off we went....This is a photo of Regrub's "Krusty the Shake Milkshake", topped with cotton candy, that my daughter ordered. My son's "Cheeseshake" had a huge hunk of cheesecake on top of it.
I have to admit that I was at least a wee bit inspired by Regrub to make a fancy milkshake myself. So, in honor of my beloved Lido Cafe Chocolate Milkshake and the famous Bear Claw, I combined the two into this delightful ice cream beverage!

🌡️Storage
You can make this drink in advance and simply store it in juice jugs (affiliate links) in the freezer (that's what I do).I also store the leftovers the same way. However, you'll want to garnish it with whipped cream and bear claws just prior to serving.
There are a lot of chocolate caramel milkshake recipes out there, but this one is unique. The cashew and caramel are a welcome addition to a chocolate milkshake and perfectly mimic the taste of a Bear Claw. So, if you're looking for an easy, but fancy, milkshake, you'll love this one1
But unless you live around these parts, you probably don't have access to Bears Claws, so I've made it easy for you to make a copycat Bear Claw by using a round caramel chocolate (like a Turtle.)
🔪 Instructions (for bear claw garnish)

- Then gently press 4 cashews into each chocolate.
- While chocolate is still warm, poke a hole through the center of each chocolate with straw. Make sure it goes right through.
- Then put 2 on each straw and slide near the top. Set in fridge on parchment lined cookie sheet to se
