Although I often make the amazing 15 Minute Pizza Dough or Weight Watchers 2 Ingredient Pizza Dough, sometimes I just want the machine to do it! This recipe is great because it's all pantry items you have on hand, in addition to bread maker yeast, which lasts a really long time in the fridge.
🥘 Ingredients
For this recipe you'll need:
- water
- olive oil - you could substitute regular vegetable oil or canola oil
- all-purpose flour
- whole wheat flour
- white granulated sugar
- salt
- bread machine yeast

This pizza dough recipe is made in your bread machine, but it's so fluffy, rich and tastes just like a pizzeria pizza crust - all without the hard work of kneading. Again, that beautiful little machine does all the labor for you! So if you have other things to do besides kneading pizza dough, then make this pizza dough in the bread maker!

📖 Variations & Substitutions
- Bread Machine Pizza Crust: The great thing about making your own bread maker pizza dough is that you get to control the crust. You can have a thick crust or thin crust pizza and even make it without the thick raised crust on the edges (technically called the 'cornicione', ) which is what I like to do. And it takes very little time and effort! Aren't bread machines just the best?!
- Pizza Toppings: Add your favorite pizza toppings! However, if you want to try something deliciously different, then give my Pickle Pizza or Perogy Pizza a try!
- Pizza Sauce: use any type of pizza sauce you like (my favorite sauce is Primo!)
- Seasonings: feel free to add Italian seasoning or crushed red chili flakes for a bit of spice!
- Pizza Cupcakes: You could use this dough to make Pizza Cupcakes, which are a really fun way to eat pizza and great for the lunchbox!
🔪 Instructions
Making pizza dough in your bread machine is sooo easy and makes the best pizza dough!
- Add ingredients in order given, using exact measurements.
- Select dough setting (dough mode) as per your bread machine's instructions (the dough cycle on mine is 1 hour and 20 minutes) and press START!
- When dough cycle is complete, press the stop button and remove ball of dough and roll out directly onto greased 12" pizza pan. You can also roll onto a cutting board or flat surface, then transfer it to your pan.

💭 Top tips
- Rolling: Roll your pizza dough out right on your pizza pan. I use a double sized rolling pin (affiliate link) I've had mine for year and love it!
- Pizza Pan: I also recommend using a perforated pizza pan (affiliate link) because it allows your pizza dough to remain crispy on the bottom! You can also use a pizza stone.

🌡️Storage
If you are storing this homemade pizza dough until you are ready to bake, then tightly cover it with plastic wrap and store it in the fridge. Freeze in an airtight container (in a ball) or a Ziplock freezer bag for up to 3 months. You can also freeze the dough on the pizza pan, tightly sealed (I use 2 - layers of Glad Press 'n Seal -affiliate link). However, I do prefer to bake it (with the toppings) prior to freezing.

What is the best bread machine to buy?
My bread machine is old and I mean OLD! I have Charlescraft which I got over 25 years ago and it's a workhorse! I'd buy another if they still made them, but unfortunately they don't. So in anticipation of needing another bread maker in the near future, I've done some research on bread makers, assessing everything from budget to value, scouring countless Amazon reviews etc... And when my Mom asked me for advice on buying a bread machine this Oster Expressbake bread machine is the one I told her to buy (affiliate link.) And this is the one I am buying when my finally dies.

👪 Serving size
This bread maker recipe is for a 1 lb bread machine and makes 1 - 12" pizza dough (12 pieces of pizza). Or you can make 2-3 smaller thin crust pizzas. If your bread machine has a bigger (2 lb) capacity, simply double the ingredients. You can do this by clicking on the blue servings in the recipe card and the ingredient amounts will adjust accordingly.

So if you're looking for a really good pizza, made with a tasty and easy pizza dough you can make in your bread machine for pizza night (or any night), then give this one a try! It's the best bread machine pizza dough recipe out there!

- 2 teaspoon bread machine yeast

- When dough cycle is complete, remove and roll out directly onto greased 12" pizza pan.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
